The Victorian Climbing Club was formed in 1952 and incorporated in 1985. The aim of the club is to promote the sport of climbing. The VCC is involved in a number of areas including access negotiation, club trips and working bees.

Climb Clean
The Club strongly encourages members to follow the climbing code:
  1. Observe all access restrictions and agreements.
  2. Use existing access tracks.
  3. Do not disturb nesting birds or other wildlife and protect all native plants especially at the base of cliffs.
  4. Respect Aboriginal sites.
  5. Minimise your use of chalk.
  6. Minimise the placement of fixed gear and respect established 'no bolting' areas.
  7. Carry out all your rubbish, bury your shit, and avoid all risk of fire.

The club meets on the last Thursday of each month (except Public Holidays and December) at 8.00 PM at the Australian Gemmological Association 380-382 Spencer Street, Melbourne. There are slideshows, discussion of issues and interesting talks given by climbers at most meetings.

VCC members hold informal climbing nights at a few of the indoor gyms in melbourne. They can often be found lurking at Cliffhanger on Wednesday nights.
