What you get:

  • 6 days of instruction in the Grampians and at Arapiles over 3 weekends (arranged to suit participants)
  • Participant to Instructor ratio of 2:1
  • Coverage under the Club’s insurance policy
  • At the end of the course participants will be competent to lead climbs on rock, place protection, and get off the cliff.

What you need:

  • Boots & harness – the Club provides helmets, ropes and all hardware
  • Enthusiasm, willingness to learn, and a spirit of adventure
  • Current VCC membership.

What it costs:

  • $550 (inc GST) plus membership fee if not already a member

The leader’s prerogative of the Club’s Trip Leader’s Guidelines apply to Learn To Lead Courses, i.e. the Course Co-ordinator has the absolute discretion to reject any intending participant if he is not satisfied that those participants have the necessary level of skill and equipment or are otherwise unsuitable.
Courses are run on demand – contact the Course Co-ordinator, Peter Canning ph 5387 1337
